A Dedication to Developmental Disabilities in Georgia since 2003

Trending: State of Georgia: Report finds  Improvements in Quality of Services for the Special Needs.

Heritage Behavioral Services, a non-profit advocacy organization is dedicated to non-traditional, trailblazing and evidence-based behavioral support services for the population with developmental disabilities in the
State of Georgia. Our programs are person-centered premised on the individual's functional and psycho-social needs. Our services are consumer-driven with active family inclusion.

Happy New 2014
At Heritage Behavioral Services, we extend our sincere appreciation to  all the service providers in the State of Georgia during the past year for superior services and wish you all Happy 2014.  The State of Georgia is one of the leading providers of quality services in the Nation.  This could not happen without the passion of professionals like you that places the interest of our citizens and quality of  services above other things. Most of you have gone above and beyond the call of duties to get the job done.

Waiting List:
Down Syndrome occurs in 1 in 691 babies in the USA
As we continue to implement the Olmstead Decision handed down by the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) in 1999, we must brace ourselves for more of our citizens' transition into the communities. Our preparedness is critical to making these transitions smooth and successful. A safe and comfortable environment and support by trained professional staff are essential to successful living at homes with families and loved ones or in community placements.
With over 10,000 citizens on the waiting list, and many living at homes with families and loved ones without services, we at Heritage Behavioral Services believe that our Providers are ready to meet the challenges of the transitions into the community and living at home with their families..
Again, the good services that you provide are well recognized by those of us that care.
This tradition of excellence in Georgia is applauded  by us at Heritage Behavioral Services.

Our blog is a novice idea and a new addition to our advocacy efforts.  We plan to feature articles that are educational and are relevant to our services as providers. .
