Senators Call For End To Subminimum Wage Amid Accusations Of Exploitation

Due to the "discriminatory" practices for workers with disabilities, U.S. senators have called for an end to the sub-minimum wages. An Illinois manufacturing company, was accused of exploiting nearly 250 employees.

Higher Death Rate Among Youth with First Episode Psychosis

High Mortality in First Episode Psychosis in Youth A new study shows that young people experiencing first episode psychosis have a much higher death rate than previously thought. Researchers analyzed data on approximately 5,000 individuals aged 16-30 with commercial health insurance who had received a new psychosis diagnosis, and followed them for the next 12 months. They found that the group had a mortality rate at least 24 times greater than the same age group in the general population, in the 12 months after the initial psychosis diagnosis.  continue reading......

 (CNN REPORT):  Forget horoscopes or fortune tellers. There's a new way to tell your future, and it involves a much more reliable medium: human neuroscience. A new study looks at over 70 scientific publications about brain scans such as functional magnetic resonance imaging or electroencephalography, noninvasive tests that measure brain activity. The paper that runs in the latest edition of Neuron concludes that doctors might have more success treating some patients if they examined the way a person's brain functioned first.
